Step 1: Combine

Combine all of the following in a stand mixer bowl with paddle attachment until the dough forms into a ball:

  • 2 sticks of soft butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (or replace with orange, rosewater, etc.)
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Any filling of your choice: earl grey, lavender, lemon zest, cranberries, etc. Don’t be afraid to get creative!

Step 2: Roll

Once combined into a dough ball, roll on a floured surface.

Step 3: Cut & Bake

Cut your shortbread into fun shapes with cookie cutters, place on baking sheet with parchment, decorate with sprinkles, and bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until done.
